Ok back in front of the PC. The Blue Goose and I took a trip down to Brissie the last two days doing a course. The ole girl got a few ohh's and arr's but most importantly, she drove like a dream.
So in bullet form:
* Safe travels to the NSW bunch.
* James I'll see you at 12 noon bud.
* Will be at the Hamilton at 1pm.
* Clarke see you at 6pm mate.
* And finally, I just got an update from Max Johnson the ABD organsier:
Can't wait to see you all!

Hello All Clubs
Not long now.
Just a couple of updates.
1. Unfortunately our long standing band has retired.
The cost of hiring a suitable band was quite expensive and would have cut into our donation to our charity.
Please feel free to provide your own entertainment on Sunday, 50's 60's music whatever you have.
We will have the Kaleidoscope dancers and the intrepid George Row performing feats of daring on his Penny Farthing bicycle or as I call it the Small Change.
2. Another change this year is the metal badge has been replaced by a Rallye Plate and a self adhesive sticker in the same style as the previous badges.
The Rallye Plate is printed on a Perspex/plastic base.

Glad she ran well.

Edit: and yes, we could have done it. But the last two years was nail biting to get art work at the last minute and waiting months to pay my guy a bottle of his chosen poison for his part....(but I had payed him in advance to make sure of delivery date)
I'm sure you all know how the world "Beer economy" works.

Could have had it all done at the right price given time to get it done.
We all agreed to paying more at the gate to get the metal badge.
Not happy after what "JF" have done for ABD the last two years. But still always there as a loyal enthusiast and supporting the cause of the day.
Over to you "Paulyling" Regional Coordinator, At least we have a sign posted and designated area now for "JF" where the JDCQ can't tell us to get of their oval.

Yeah totally agree Clarke.
It was a real shame to find out about the badges last minute. Didn't know the cheeky buggers asked you for advertising a few days before the event though! Wow.
Definitely credit where credit is due. If it weren't for you Clarke we wouldn't have our own dedicated JF spot each year that is for sure. We might of had to park outside the gates lol!

Update for me.
My apologies I wont be able to make the lunch/dinner today now.
Wifey is quite sick with flu and two of the kids have colds. (Can't really expect the baby sitter to take them and spread their snotty germs)
Needless to say house is full of misery and tissues.
I was originally car pooling with James, but called him this morning. James said he will be a the dinner tonight at 6pm.
Tomorrow:
I will still be at ABD on Sunday. Will be leaving now from my home at the Sunny coast if anybody wants to meet at the BP Servo Southbound, at Morayfield. I will be there at approximately 0545hrs. (34by151 will be there too). Look for the Blue Goose and the XJ-R in the carpark.
My apologies again.

Great company and dinner at Graziers Steakhouse, Hamilton Hotel.
Unfortunately not great for conversation with the NZ v South Africa game followed by the Cowboys v Eels game with a large crowd in after a day at the races. Very noisy. Plenty of time to catch up tomorrow and chat without the background noise.

What an absolutely fab day. Thank you so much for all those who who were able to come. It was a great turn out.
It was also great to catch up and meet some new faces also. Hope you can join the forums Russell!
Special Mention to Jim, Nina and Ken coming all the way from NSW too!
I took a few happy snaps but as always...eagerly awaiting Mr Clarke to upload his. Can't wait for the group photo!
P.S I reckon we put on the best spread out of all Car Groups! Food was superb
