Nowhere near Tennyson Ken but you are more than welcome to stay at the Appletons B&B at Morayfield. Unfortunately a further 40k's north of Brisbane but the Rum and the port are good. Well be attending the ABD event and probably traveling in convoy with others from the North Coast.

Mt Ommaney Hotel Apartments is 10 Minutes from the ABD Venue and about 50 meters off the Western Freeway on your way into Brisbane. 5 minute walk to a bus to the city.

Glad you're coming along Ken! Awesome effort mate!

Clarke I sent off an email to Max Johnson for ABD but he did mention he wasn't doing the role and that a David Robinson will be organising things from here on in. Do you know what his email address is?

I don't think Max checks his emails too often and I only have his email and contact details. Just want to ensure they know how many are coming from the mighty Jaguar Forums.

I'll give Max a call and find out Davids email. I did have it but can't seem to find it.
Max hasn't been well for a while, been hard to get hold of him.

You know what Doug? If I turn out to be a lone Southerner, I will take you up on that. Love to enjoy yours & Lois' hospitality, and huge thanks for your generosity. Perhaps I can see your temptation of port and raise you a single malt Glenmorangie. However, at this planning stage, I'm pushing Megs and others to join me - in which case we'll group into Clarke's recommendation. But have no fear . . . I have no appetite for being a loner sitting in an empty room. What say we hold that thought until closer to September?

Thanks Clarke, including link. Before, during and after our many years at Bundy in the '70s, our constant trips back south for children to keep in touch with grandparents, saw Brisbane as a place we skirted. I'm a Sydmey reject and complete novice re Brizzy . . . now, I'm just a country boy.

Well done Paul and big thanks, in promoting our JaguarForums attendance at Qld ABD on Sunday 17th September. This "get together" aspect of JF involvement has become a real drawcard for me, and for many others. The exhilarating sight of a long string of gleaming Jaguars . . . all those many and varied models across our marque . . . is a HUGE turn-on. And that's not just me. The public agrees, in spades. But, it's more . . . it's the friendship, the shared experiences, lessons learned, the fun and humour of mixing with a bunch of like minded enthusiasts. That's the glue that makes these events so memorable and that's why I'll be there.

Cheers,

Ken

Either way it will be great to catch up with you and Megs again. Perhaps another night out dinner and get-together can be arranged before or after the ABD to show some old fashioned northern hospitality. Paul/Clarke??

Hi Paul
I regard ABD as a compulsory event and have been going for years. It would take a major misalignment of the planets for me to miss it.
Cheers Charlie

Alright the numbers are growing! Great to have you onboard guys.

Cheers Clarke

By the way mate, any luck on getting the contact for David Robinson? I hadn't heard back from Max but like you said he has had health issues and isn't online very much.

I might show up and awkwardly stand around, $20 is no issue if there's charity funding happening, Though I don't think my xJ is something for the show :P I'll just be a walk in. Though if there's a way to donate on top of walk in fees I'll be keen beans on that.

It's not about whether you have a show car or not, the day is about bringing your car along and enjoying the day with fellow enthusiasts.

At the first ABD I went to my car was far from pretty. Whether it's a Million $ vintage Rolls Royce Phantom or a rusty middle aged Jag the people want to have a look over it.

Hey Beck . . . grab a can of polish and cloth. This aint a competion of whose car is best . . . it's about diving in, making and sharing friendships and knowledge and enjoying each others experiences, surrounded by a range of classic cats. On a purely selfish note, your presence will add fuel to my hope that my daughter Megan will join me - not that she needs any excuse to wind up the XK8 while I nestle into the S-Type.

I too am delighted that our $20 per car will go to a worthy charity . . . so hey, all you canetoads, including my Bundy born Megs . . . please make this a must do. We are comin' to visit . . . and the southern cats are growlin' already.

Thanks all for offers of hospitality,
Stay cool,

Ken

It is a metal commemorative badge about 6 cm diameter you can mount on your bumper or garage wall etc. I mount mine on the inside of the bonnet out of sight.

There are a lot of show cars there, but also daily drivers.
