I have relayed the numbers so far to Max Johnson (the only ABD contact I have). No reply but hopefully it will all run smoothly on the day.

Haven't heard from Ken for a while. Have they locked you up Ken? Hope you're out in time for the ABD.
Yeah Ken where are ya mate? Hope all is well

Hi Paul,

Jim Fielden here, would like to add my name along with wife Kathie (plus the XKR) to display on the Sunday at Tennyson. Can't make the Saturday meet I'm afraid.
Please let me know what I need to do and I look forward to seeing everyone.

Cheers, Jim.

That is great news Jim. I'll add you to the list for the 17th of September!

How about we start organising lunch?
Apart from the average event style take a way there is nothing else available at the venue.

Maybe something along the lines of last year?

As a start, I have the shade (3 x 3 metre) and a table.

Looks like we'll have a few extras this year Clarke. May need a couple shades. :-)
Lois and I will bring along a potato salad, a coleslaw and a dozen bread rolls as our contribution to the table.

We have an excellent local Woolies store Jim. A good variety of tasty kebabs is available there.

Hi James, no BBQ's allowed anymore. They put a stop to last year for insurance reasons.
That is why we changed to cold meats & salads at the last minute last year.

Hi Doug, I'll see if I can grab one off the neighbour. Pretty sure he has 2 or 3 of them from when they used to do the markets on weekends.

Default Hey Daaad . . . seeing you're retired with nothing to do . . .

Hello Folks . . . So sorry I have been missing for so long. Short story as follows . . . no less than 3 family members have sought my help and oversight in undertaking home extension and renovation plans . . . bro-in-law nearby; daughter 300Km away in Coffs; and son 600Km away in Sydney. Needless to say, I have spent months away, alternately working the trades and doing much of the work myself. By comparison, my own project is largely finished but final painting is only half completed. Aaah, but it's good to be home!

Gosh, I desperately need a break . . . so, I have accepted Doug & Lois' hospitality for ABD weekend, arriving Friday 15th September. Quick update is to please book me for EVERYTHING across both the Saturday and Sunday of ABD weekend.

I am so looking forward to the the RiverCat cruise and Saturday evening dinner. For the ABD luncheon, I will also use Doug & Lois' shopping advice to be able to contribute. Must remember to pack a coolbag.

Regrettably, daughter Megan will be unable to come also . . . not coz I have destroyed her budget . . . just under heaps of work stress at present. As to wheels, Meg has asked me to run the XK8. I suspect she knows it will thereby get a thorough wash and polish!

Cheers and best wishes to all,

Ken

Yes. Good to be back Doug, but it appears only too briefly. Have just mapped out next month and it looks another 10,000-15,000Km between Inverell, Sydney & Coffs Harbour with a central coast family funeral and my sojourn to Brisbane thrown in. Family consoles me with advice that alternative may be more peaceful . . . but not very appealing!

Reminds me of Christine's Granny who often lamented "The hurrier I go, the behinder I get!"

From Pauly's listings, we appear a good turnout . . . and I am so keen to do the RiverCat cruise. I hear that Clarke has a special premium reserve Shiraz set for tasting at our Saturday evening dinner - Woollies Wobbly Woebegones 2018 vintage - snatched up for a song from a dumpster behind his local BWS. Comes with label warning not to spill near car duco, but heck, at Clarke's crazy prices it's gotta be a bargain . . . just swallow quickly! Still room for more to join in at what should be a memorable day and night!

As to the ABD itself, my polishing kit is already smoldering close to spontaneous combustion. Here are some pics from last year's NSW All British Day at King's School, Sydney . . . focus on a couple of really rare classic Jaguars just to whet the appetite.

Cheers to all,

Ken

Great to see you back Ken, Shiraz and a steak sounds like a plan.

Miss Fireball decided today was a good day to bleed green stuff,so emergency surgery is in order.
New water pump ordered today from Jagdaim, hoping it is here for the weekend. I would have thought the old one would last longer than 2 years.
