We're in, still no roller doors but one oil change under the belt.

Jerry, this shed has had 25 years in the planning and dream stage. Finally what I have seen in my sleep is real.

Guessing I can call it a shed now it has doors. Power to come Monday, including 3 phase for the printing machine and Dr Phills toys later.

Damn Fine Shed / Shop. Looks like it will do nicely. Lots of room, (now) you'll be surprised how much you can get in there. Are you gonna do any insulation? I started insulating mine, got about 1/3 of the way done, then life happened. So maybe some day. The reason I ask, is I wish I'd have done it before I got ten tons of Sh*t in it. Now you have to move a lot of stuff out of the way, to be able to do it. Just a thought.

Jack, roof is insulated. Two industrial fans for the summer. Doesn't get that cold here in winter so I'm hoping that will be sufficient.

Both Jags in thier new home I reckon I have the biggest smile in our street today.

Looks Amazing, lots of extra room to move things around. I hope someday I can get all my kid's junk out, so I can have all my extra room back! LOL!

All my kids junk is confined to this shipping container down the back. And is staying that way. When it is empty it will be another workshop(engine build shop I'm thinking). It has reverse cycle air con, lights and 3 phase power.....just got to get their **** out of it.

I think I can say "well and truely settled". Everything in it's place I think. Next step is to attack the XJS project.
I'm starting to feel like this shed is mine.

Excuse the ford, Son & partner only have one parking space at their unit.

Jim, I'm starting to feel like I'm home in there. Would you beleive most of that stuff was in my 6 x 6 garage. Except the pallet racking and shelving. And a bike lifter that is still at a mates place in Brisbane.

Hey Clarke, I'll bet it feels good to be settled in. Did you have it all planned out? Where things would go, or did you just start putting things in, then deciding where they worked best. Mine was also 25+ years of dreaming, and yes I had it all drawn out, on Lots! of different papers. I had taken Architectural Drafting in high school, and even though I didn't draw them to scale, and in super great detail. I could of handed them to someone, and they could have built it, without much trouble. Even though I had it all planned out. I still changed several things, and changed where stuff went. As sometimes the best laid plans, just don't seem to work in the real world. LOL!

Nice job all the way around Sir.

Yes Jack, I had a well drawn up plan of where things were going before we even moved into the house. Most of it is where I thought it would be. A couple of things in different places because I didn't think about exposed beams inside the shed. Coming from a garage in the house I planned with clear wall space right down both sides.
Not too much different to what I had planned, and things may get moved around a little as I start working in there.

Hi 34by151

I recently joined this forum and was browsing through the "Sheds" post when I noticed your reference to HAPP hoists.
Yesterday I visited HAPP at Ormeau where Gavan showed me some of their garage hoists.

I am considering the HAPP35 as my 9m x 6.5m shed has a low celling height.
I would appreciate any feedback on the quality of the HAPP product and after-sales service you can share.

Regards

I took the plunge and ordered a HAPP 35P 2 post hoist rated for 4.0 Tonne. This hoist is suitable for sheds with a low ceiling height.
Over the Christmas break my grandson and I worked up a sweat and installed the hoist as per the supplied instructions.
It all came together as planned and has been put to good use since.
No more lying on my back for oil changes and under body work.
Should have done it years ago.

HAPP 35P 2 Post Hoist installed in my shed

Yesterday the mezzanine finally went up in the back bay of the shed, 7 x 3 metre storage up top and 3 x 4 storage down plus my print room I will close in once I’m out of the wheelchair.

All my mess can go up top now out of sight. Mezzanine took so long because it wasn’t on the plans we submitted to council ( complete extra set of permits required along with hand rails and stairs). We had to wait 6 months for the inspector to come out and approve the shed and water tanks before we could put up the illegal floor.

Next step is to move everything back to the storage end of the shed and get the cars back in their bays, I moved all this stuff 7 weeks ago. Can’t wait to get everything in its place and make some work room.

In had to use my drone to take pictures since I can’t stand at the moment. Pretty scary stuff manoeuvreing it around with hanging lights and cables.

Just to to get all the boxes and crap out of my work areas.

Doing well, I managed to stand in the driveway today for Anzac ceremony. Almost lasted the four minutes before I had to retire to chair😴

Everything almost in it’s place thanks to my 21 y/o son. He put in a big day moving my **** for me while I barked orders from my crutches.

Big thank you to him for bringing some normality to my life. Watching this shed sit idle for 12 weeks has been hard.
Mezzanine done and most of what I want up there is.
