First meet or drive for 2015
Hello All Qld members, I hope you and your family's had a happy and safe festive season.
I am feeling the water for a get together for April sometime. Sunday 12th , Saturday 18th or Sunday 19th of April are after the Easter break. These three dates confirm at least two starters, myself and "paulyling" (Paul).
Feel free to throw in your ideas of somewhere to go or meet for a meal or picnic, any suggestions will be appreciated. No plans made, just need your ideas and availability so all members can work out a good day.
Could even be a bbq at a members house or a local spot you have in mind.
It would be nice to get 6 or more starters. If your Jaguar is off the road no worries, I have seen a member bring his Prius to the Ballina meet last year. We didn't even give him a hard time.
One of our meets was just two members working through some V12 issues then cruising to a mountain lookout for lunch.... it only takes two to make a forum meet.
Some pics from last years events below.
Looking forward to your response.
Any interest in the 2015 All British Day is also welcome, we will have our own Jaguarforums spot this year , and input with the organising committee. If you are interested in getting involved in the running of the ABD come along to the meetings.

1988 Daimler Sovereign Sedan
Hello Everyone
I only joined late last year and was planning to attend some meets this year but due to health reasons my situation has changed. I now have to sell my Daimler unfortunately to pay for medical treatment so if anyone knows of someone who might be interested I can be contacted by email for details at: ianinpanama@yahoo.com
I am in Yeppoon, Central Qld. and for just a short descriptiuon of the car, it's a 1988 Daimler Sovereign, 3.6ltr, with 182,000 klms, gun metal grey metallic in colour with light grey leather upholstery. I bought it from the 3rd owner since new and it has current log books. I have some photos I can email to prospective buyers. Thank you so much in advance.
Cheers,
Ian.

Hi guys.
i have a few ideas:
Portside Wharf, Hamilton. Centralish location. places to eat and a nice lookout not far.
Contact | PORTSIDE
Noosa Area Not too familiar with the area but nice spot
Lakeside Park maybe could coincide with something else on the same day. Don't think they do an all British but maybe just use it as a meeting point? Depending on whats on there they sometimes have a $10 entry fee to get in, but anybody can go and park there, and you can even go around the pits to check out the cars. Here is their calendar
QLD Raceways - Calendars
could even include in the same day a drive to place mentioned below or separate days:
Dayboro awesome bakery there and beautiful scenery
Just some ideas but definately keen for something we can agree on

Count me in. Lakeside Park raceway or any one of the picnic/barby spots around nearby lakes Kurwongba or Samsonvale suits me fine.
Some other suggestions are:
Fish & chips on Scarborough beach
Lunch at Morgans
Sunday breakfast at Petrie Old Town
Any day is good for me, although to get group parking for our Jags may mean an early arrival at our chosen destination.

Yep! I'd like to join in too. Unfortunately we will be over in Perth for all the dates mentioned in April. But definately up for a meet sometime on northside of Brisbane. My cars are 1988 XJs and 2 x 1988 XJ40 Daimlers as well as a 1989 XJ40 Sovereign. Both '88 Daimlers are for sale :-).

Away during April but hopefully next time....
Thanks for the invite...
As a new member, I would like to meet a few like-minded Jaguar enthusiasts, but I am away from the 1st till the 27th April in the motherland.
I hope to order some parts for my car from somewhere in England and pick them up. Can anyone recommend a good, reliable, and hopefully reasonably priced Jag spare parts supplier anywhere in England (or even Wales). Looking for a complete front bushing kit, and a new ABS module, and a few other small things.
I hopefully will make the next meet, or worst case, ABD in September.
Cheers

Not much activity here so far but we need to get something moving.
1.Breakfast at Old Petrie Town (12 April) then a drive through Mt Mee to Woodford or Peachester.
2.The Euro Day at Lakeside on the 19th April is looking like a good day out. I was thinking a bit if something for everyone. Track cruises, challenge sessions on track and entertainment for children. Take a look at the link and give some feedback

Maybe we could do the Gold Coast for the second meet for the year, we have a few down there that will jump onboard(doc and puneyman).

19th April, Euro Day, Lakeside.
We have 3 members keen for this day. So in the next couple of days I will email all Qld members I know of to see what kind of numbers we come up with.
We can plan the finer details closer to the date.
1.henry crun (Bruce)
2.paulyling (Paul)

Genuine Jaguar parts at significantly less than main dealer prices and, from what I read in the Australia-Region forums, considerably less than you would pay at home.
Because you would be buying for export outside the European Union, you may even be able to avoid having UK VAT (Value Added Tax at 20%) added to the item cost.
