Hello to all you fellow Queensland members of Jaguar Forums, having taken on the position if regional coordinator "Queensland Sub Forum" I feel I should introduce myself or re-introduce to myself to those of you I have corresponded with before.
I would like to ask you all to post a quick hello in this thread outlining your City/Town/area and any affiliations you might have with a local Jaguar or car club. And contact details for those clubs should other members want to make enquiries.
I am a Kiwi,(I can hear the stones landing on my roof already) but I have been living in Brisbane since 1988, 6 years longer than I lived in the old country.
If you are with a club or organisation and know of any drives/shows/events please start a thread including dates, times, locations as well contact details of the organiser where available such as web page links,or the person to contact for details.
Mt Tamborine Accommodation | Bearded Dragon
I would like to try to organise a meet, greet and drive sometime in the Brisbane area in say August/September just to give all interested plenty of time to sort a suitable date. And if it is successful we could discuss follow-up meets from there. ie ,Meeting at the Bearded Dragon for a lunch(with beer and bands ,and a family friendly atmosphere with rides and baby animal enclosure...and a separate parking/viewing area for pre-arranged group visits ) could be a starting point. Followed by a drive over Tamborine Mountain to Cunungra or similar.
This only a suggestion,if you have any other ideas please post the them,we could make a plan once we know where people are coming from.
This change to the forums has come about as our major cities are 10+ hours drive apart and having smaller regions(1.9 million km/s) for Queensland makes it so much easier for a coordinator and members to organise things.
Any ideas you have to improve our collective JF experience please feel free to start a new thread or add to existing threads.
We are working on moving the relevant threads from the Australia forum to Queensland sub forum asap, but this will take time, bear with us while we sort the 2000 odd threads.
Kind Regards,
Clarke Bryant

Hi Clarke/fellow Queensland dwellers,
I'm fairly new to this forum and very new to Jaguars in general. I am in Hervey Bay and so far I don't have any connections to any car clubs etc. Previously I owned a Valiant Charger which I almost exclusively maintained and modified for over 5 years. To say I'm not a mechanic is an understatement but in general I'll have a go and hopefully get the desired result. Already I'm finding the information on this forum invaluable in owning my X-Type. I have no intentions of drastically modifying this car just maintaining it and undertaking minor repairs where necessary.
I am interested in coming along on the run you are planning. My work shifts are quite demanding and not flexible at all but if I can get there I'm sure it will be worthwhile doing so. Hope to see you then.
Regards,
Paul

Hi Guys,
I have recently joined the forum and would like to thank all the people who have passed on their knowledge to me for my electrical gremlin. I come from the Central Qld area. This is my second jag, 1st was back in 89 which was a 420G that I restored.
I have been driving Fords since, until I was able to rekindle my love of Jags and now I have my pride & joy a '99 XJR.
I look forward to chatting with you all and like the idea of a road trip, just have to reorganise work.

As we have more interest and ideas of dates and a location(mine is only a suggestion to get the interest started) both of you should add your input and dates that suit your schedules,we have to work with every one interested.
We could even head north from Brisbane if that is where the most interest is.
Cheers

Hey guys,
just had the word back on the banner.
As soon as you guys get on the move and a forum meet is likely in the offing, please let me know, I'll get one sorted specifically for Australia.
This will be for Australia region only and down to you guys to ship from place to place depending on what meet is where & when.
Please try and give me as much notice as possible so I can get this organised in time.
Thanks
Jim

Hi Paul, it would be great to meet when this comes together. Hervey Bay would be about four hours to Brisbane?
Hi Kascol, That would be some road trip just for lunch(can you possibly add a town to your profile ?),first mane too if you like.

Kragg is my name (pronounced like Prag but with a K) and Rocky area is where I live, so that would have to be an over night trip for me. But I don't mind, I like the drive and hinterlands.

(apologies for the delayed reply - I've been away on a 5K mile drive across France and Spain)
Welcome to your new role as Regional Coordinator. Good to see you're getting the "Queensland Sub Forum" moving.
Graham
