Newcastle Run
G'gay Guys
Well will soon be back in Brisbane from the honeymoon and have just been told we have to shoot down to Newcastle!!!
So it looks as if I will have enough time to drop off the luggage, play with the dog for 5 minutes and off we go. Did manage to get her to agree to taking the XJSC to the trip.
So the question that I have for the Southern brethren is.......any good places to take my baby whilst we are there???
Pete

Hello Pete. Hearty congratulations . . . new wife; new car . . . but you realize all great things come in 3s. Anyway, best wishes to you and your wife for your upcoming trip to Newcastle.
About halfway there (and back also), you will pass through Coffs Harbour, home to the highly recommended Denis Spagnolo in Lytton Street. Dennis is an independent specialist and always has several Jags undergoing service or repairs. Hope you don't need him . . . but file it away for reference.
As for sights and sounds, I'll leave others to wax lyrical about the coalfields capital further south in Newcastle . . . although driving via Pacific Hwy rather than New England will shield you from all the muck that used to be once beautiful Hunter Valley wine country.
By comparison, any coastal stop along the NSW mid north coast has lovely beaches, but my pick goes to South West Rocks and Trial Bay . . . quiet, clean, scenic and a little known outpost of convict and wartime history. Coffs Harbour and its Jetty area has great restaurants, especially if your taste runs to traditional Indian fare.
Best wishes,
Ken

Hi Doug . . . greetings mate. How is all that great winter sunshine treating you up there?
But wait, there's more . . . today, we have put together a really special deal for our Queensland viewers. Pop into the Seafood Co-op at Coffs Jetty for fish and chips that melt in the mouth; spend a relaxing night at South West Rocks; and after attending to business in Newcastle, take our high speed run down our premier motorway to . . . yes, Sydney, where we have packaged up for sale, a fully paid up and carefully maintained Sydney Harbour Bridge. You have been short listed for this unique invitation to own all, or part of, this unique global icon.
While the Bridge is offered for sale "as is", well informed investors will note that all lanes, both north and south, are fitted with the latest generation of "CHING CHING" ePay money making technology which, together with the proposed eBridge tax on all train commuters, virtually guarantees that successful purchasers will get rich quick. Simply lodge your Expression of Interest at our online portal <www.flybynightbaby.com.au> together with your refundable security deposit of AU$1M in bitcoins, or for a lesser portion, all you can send now. Only by participating in this online auction, will you become eligible to bid for the Sydney Opera House, which will be offered in our second tranche.
If this offer has tickled your fancy, hit me with clicking the "Thanks" button . . . and I will send you a genuine Paul Hogan painted rivet from "The Bridge".
Best wishes mate,
Ken
