Default Recommendations for jag mechanics in the Brisbane or Sunny coast area

Heh guys

I live up here on the Sunny Coast and was wondering if there are any good mechanics you would recommend to service your jag? ( i am shopping for an XJS and just doing the ground work)

If you guys do it yourself, who would you then go to for anything major?

What about mods like rims etc?

Again, thanks for all your help.

Just had some mechanical repairs done to our x type 2ltr, by Ignite Mechanical & Custom Ignite Mechanical & Custom - Home happy with the work and the price. Located at Stafford.

Hi Paul, I do all my own servicing with advice from the forum members and a service manual. Last time I paid mechanic for something other than Aircon work was 25+ years ago.
I have heard there is a good specialist in Redcliffe but would have to find out the name.
Maybe someone else local will know the name of the place.
Haven't had any major jobs to do yet. Except twin carby rebuild and diff/rear brake and suspention rebuild from fire damage.

If I ever get in too deep I have retired mechanic across the road and a couple of mates who are very handy on the spanners. And a retired Jaguar mechanic and Technical trainer with 40 years Jag experience to call upon for advice.

Get ready for some mind numbing experiences when it comes to mechanics

And be prepared to do some of your own work XJS cars are getting old no matter what
I personally wouldn't touch anything older than a 90 model they had a lot of problems sorted by then

I use independent Jaguar workshop in sandgate Niall and Michael they are not the cheapest but he does have the factory diagnostic software for them something I had to learn the expensive way LOL

Thanks Doc, that is the place I was thinking of. They were recommended by a guy I know with an XKE.
I was searching around Redcliffe, not Sandgate, and without the name of the place I couldn't find it.

These guys have worked on a couple of Landrovers I know, including my brothers 2006 Sport HSE.
They do good work from what I have heard,I just didn't realise they did Jaguars so didn't mention them earlier.
