Most S1 had HD8.

They leaked fuel from the main jet diaphragm, and that dripped on the distributor/coil, and whoosh.

The HD8 was/is a mongrel to convert to manual choke, so most were swapped for HS8 waaaaaaaay back.

The Daimler versions, including S2, had HS8 as standard.

I will finish that doco soon, and post it. Waiting for a new printer/scanner, as I knocked the other one off the table, and it fails to work, must be Lucas controlled.

Thanks for that,no rush with the doco, probably won't get to do anything with XJ6 until next week at the earliest. Working 12 hour shifts thur-sun.
My HS8's have manual chokes,would they be standard for the carbs or fitted later.
