They might well exist Steve but the only guy,and you may already know of him, that I could suggest although NOT recommend,as he has just done my headling is Gary Ayre in Springvale area. He has a huge supply of x300 parts and V12 bits and engines. Seems like a good bloke and is happy to give advise and seems to know his stuff. I use a local man that also repairs golf buggies and chainsaws.he is also about to do my timing chains. I can trust him and know my engine will be perfect. Although he has never done one before!

Jaguar Restorations
Hi Guys, been snooping around on the replys for a honest reputable mechanic. I was referred to a private guy called Steve Burrows. He is a straight shooter, no hog wash or bull like most of em. He did my engine up and runs a dream, a little dearer than others but at least he fully accounts for everything. I suggest you give him ago for repairs and service. He trades as JAGMANIA and has a website, search Jagmania Australia

I watched my car getting serviced (dealer) from the waiting room. Hoist, oil out. oil in,out the back for a wash and somehow passed a 50 point safety check?
$300+ and not even a filter. What we have to pay to get their stamp in the book.

Just wanted to Jump in and give a quick endorsement and story regarding Gary Ayre. I recently changed the fuel sender unit on my 95 x300. To cut a long story short I had a leak from the seal after wards and was told I required a replacement tank was also quoted $900+, including labor by a Jag Mechanic for the job.
The day before it was booked in I thought I better do some due diligence and rang Gary Ayre to confirm the price on a second hand tank. After telling him my predicament he said that I should bring it down so he could take a look at it. He fixed the problem in about 15 min and just asked for a fifty when I asked him how much the charge was. Not only that but he also quoted me $200 less on the second hand tank if it had of been required.
Moral of the story for me a new Jag owner, is that it pays to do some ringing around and talk to the right people.
