Default Run No2 2016

Just putting up some dates for the winter run to Tatong Tavern.

Here are some weekends , please let me know which ones you can make and which days. Either here or PM me , whatever you like.

Its a lot easier for Mike if we can do Saturdays as it avoids messing with shifts as he normally works Sunday. This may just shift the problem elsewhere, we will see. So please confirm the days you can come and I will work out when we have the best attendance.

We are proposing and could any of these days at the moment:

June 18-19

July 9-10

July 23-24

We'd have a slight preference for 9-10 July, but at this moment we can do any of those weekends. Either Sat or Sun works for us.

Either of the weekends in July are good for us.

The best date there for Sofie and I is June the 18th.
With plenty of notice though we can both make arrangments and will be happy to go with the consensus.

We have broad acceptance for July 9 so I'd rather not go back to square one f I can avoid it. Please see if you guys can juggle the necessary to work with the 9th.

Hi Mick

Yes RSVPs are required so we can book numbers at the pub for lunch.

Tatong is in the hills near Swanpool. If Swanpool is no help its up Benalla way, south of Winton.

Rather you didnt publish the event elsewhere. This is just a small social event for the JF community. If you want to promote JF on that page or maybe publish the run to Historic Winton that's fine and more appropriate if numbers turn up.

Feel free also to organise a run if you like and publish it as you please. I dont own the run organising activity, I just seem to be the one most interested and I suspect have more spare time to do it than the others. I would be very happy to attend a run organised by another member.

Had a Chat to Sofia who's keep to float some ideas for the coming Spring. It's a while off but will share and discuss when we get a bit closer.

That would be great, I remember at lunch she was talking about somehwere near the water to get some different types of pics. Let us all know when you have your idea(s) together.

So , the next run is July 9th up to the Tatong Tavern.

Thinking of meeting at a coffee venue in Yea and then taking some back roads through places like Strathbogie, Lima East, Swanpool and Tatong. Sandy and I will do a study tour next week. We have done about half of this with the local club before and the roads and countryside were great for that part. Finally had some rain so things are looking green and lush again.

Starters previously expressing interest are:

Yarpos - 2
MikeyB10 - 2
Jagent - 2
Hawken - 2
Mickvic - TBA

If you cant make it now please let me know. I will make a booking at the Pub next week.

As always anyone is welcome and you dont need to be in a Jag if yours is unwell, in bits or just an aspiration at the moment.

Sandy and I are taking one for the team tomorrow and doing the hard research yards with a pre run run and a pre lunch lunch at the Tatong tavern.

This is what we are thinking in terms of route. Reality may of course intervene, which is sort of why we are going. Starting point is a nice Bakery/Coffe shop in Yarck.

Good on ya Steve, sneaking in country drive and pub lunch pretending it is for the team.
I do the same just to make sure the meals are ok.

So, that route look OK and works out at 1hr 40 minutes at legal speeds in the wet.

Most of it is through interesting winding hill country, the last 20 minutes flattens out to pasture land.

Propose meeting up at this bakery/coffee place in Yarck (Bucks) from about 10AM. First on the left coming into town , lots of yellow out the front like this:

Coffee, food and loos available there.

Aim to head off about 10:30-10:45

Booking has been made for 12:30, for 10 people at the moment.

If you prefer to meet us there, Tatong is just off the Midland Highway (turnoff in Swanpool). Easily reached via the Hume or the Midlands Highway if you dont want to join the tour. Location is handy for a quicker trip home via these highways.

If you havent already put your hand up , feel free to respond (so I can adjust booking) and come along. Venue is a ye olde rustic style pub, with good quality generous meals, so dont have a big breakfast :-)

Hi

We are close enough now to confirm the list of starters for the Tatong run.

The list of possibles I have at the moment is:

Yarpos - 2
MikeyB10 - 2
Jagent - 2
Hawken - 2
Mickvic - TBA
Catherine1959 - TBA

Would you confirm please (on here or via PM, whichever you prefer):

a) if you are coming and how many;

b) if you are going straight there or joining the tour from Yarck.

I will send out a group PM to catch those who arent regular logger oners.

June and I are definitely in Steve. It's possible we'll go straight to Tatong, but if we decide to meet up at Yarck I'll let you know before the day.

Not regular logger oners!

Send them a severe reprimand too.
