Sorting the bodywork on my 83 XJ6 Sovereign
The body is pretty good for a 37 yo car, but I'm not happy with the panel alignment and shutline gaps of the bonnet and boot lid.
Some clown has put a shim behind the L/H bonnet hinge........to correct the misalignment it should've gone on the R/H side!
Will remove bonnet and see what I need to do.
There is insufficient adjustment left in the boot lid, I'll remove the boot lid and slot the holes, should give me the @ 4mm I want.
There are of course a few very small rust pimples, which I will deal with in the fullness of time........before they turn into huge gaping holes, have a pair of nice shiny new welding machines to try out.

Hi Jag83,
Panel fit was never a strong suit with these cars.
Bonnet alignment isn't straight up easy.
When they came off the production line there were two employees who's sole job it was to shimy the front bonnet hinges to get the bonnet to align, fit and close correctly.
When you take the bonnet off, keep the left and right shims as they are and separate, assuming no one has mixed and matched them already.
Boot lid is easier to get right but the biggest problem is with people slamming it shut. There should be a sticker warning against said slamming and infact advising to lower and then press firmly to close.
Cheers,
NIgel
