Hi all,
I have a 1975 Series 2 carburetor XJ12. I am in belief that is has the OPUS ignition system installed. However it seems to be a very problematic system. I have tried researching the crap out of this issue and found limited information on replacements for the jaguar V12 (Carb model). I found this XR700 system https://www.speedpro.com.au/products...-4-6-8-v12-jag but I'm wondering if its only for the fuel injected models. Is there any other alternatives to the OPUS ignition system in Australia for the jaguar V12?

You may get more eyes on your question by posting in the XJ6 model specific area. It's located at https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...s-i-ii-iii-16/
I understand you are asking about Australian availability but far fewer people visit the regional forums than the model specific ones. Grant Francis is a very knowledgeable guy on most things V12 and might be able to steer you in a good direction. You could message him directly via the Forum. Good luck.
That system appears to be just a points replacement system for the old style distributor (which most often is associated with a carburettor), Its difficult to see how the way the engine is fueled would affect the installation.
