XJ6 diff? upgrade

XJ6 diff? upgrade
Folks
I'm keen to understand whether one can upgrade an XJ6 differential's innards with new parts.
The diff is under my AC Cobra and was part of the initial owner's build, so I don't yet know exactly what variant it is but will be researching this soon.
I did get the diff worked on when I first bought the unfinished kit, my memory being a comment that the diff was out of a Mark 10 Jag but that doesn't seem right .
More importantly the gears weren't either too bad or too good and as a solid mount arrangement, I can hear back lash noise on acceleration / deacceleration, hence why I'd like to renew the mechanicals.
Is there a supplier of new replacement parts for these diffs or some other option.
I'd been keen for feedback on the options please.
Cheers
Steve

Yes you can rebuild your existing diff. Parts are available through specialist Jag suppliers, or take a chance on another used diff. If your diff is from a Mk 10 then it either 3.54 or 3.77 ratio, which seemingly suits your gearbox.
All later diffs (1980's and later) are either 3.058 or 2.88 - perhaps a bit tall for you.
