Helllooo Spitfire!
I have been wondering where you were.
I though I would have to chase you with a stick, Yes the first Jag club meet is on Sept eighth. Meeting starts at 8 PM.
BTW Where is Eric??? He shouls join us and get some good advice on that first Jag!!
Hey Mirage1, will we still see you at Montgomery's Inn?
Just remember to bring the right car!
There is a certain Jag club guy who brings a robins egg blue Alpha on Thursday nights LOL.
And one final note, I am no longer certain abount my moniker, I have just purchased the car to finish off (for now) our car collection. It is a 1962 Mark 10 with a 3.8 6 cylinder!!! (gasp) engine. I am thrilled with this new car hope to drive it on the eighth! See you there.

Hey there "NotJustV12" ! Excellent acquisition! I just have one question though - where are the pics?! ![Smile](https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My spidey senses told me you were rummaging around for a big stick so I thought I better get back online.
I'm going to try making it for the 8th. It's a bit of a drive from Peterborough, but hey, any excuse to drive the Jag is good enough for me.

Well Spitfire, there is another member in the Peterborough area who comes in most meetings. He has a bunch of 420's which are connected to the original "S" Type. Last I saw he was driving a "68 420 which is identical to my MK 10 except smaller. Just imagine a MK 10 that has been put on a sensible diet and there you have it.
(Thank you Jim Patten for that phrase)
I have been crazy busy this last month with VERY GOOD THINGS! I was on the 401 today and blasted (at 65 MPH) past our Thursday night buddy with the unrestored original 28 model "A. I waved and he recognized me and I taunted him to go faster. He waved his arms in surrender, he has'nt seen me either til today. Then a few hours later, I was waved at by a BMW driver who accused me of being a Tursday nighter in Woodbridge. I confessed and he sent me to the "Ferrari Chat" forums to see a pic of Spitfire and I exchanging that famous plate from the concours.
I think I have been really told today to get my priorities in order.
So...Mirage1 will (MAYBE) see us Thursday XXX Fingers crossed.
OK Spit, I am still not ready for prime time with this picture thing.
So to see the MK 10 come to the meet on the eighth.
Finally Where's Eric? Shall we call him "Waldo" from now on?
JustV12???

That's great - you and I having our pics on a Ferrari forum! Lol! Can you send me a link?
I'll make sure to bring my camera then on the 8th so the world can finally see your Mk 10. I'd like to meet the fellow here who owns those 420's.
I found a 1955 Mark 7 saloon on kijiji.com for sale here in Peterborough. It's a restoration car though - all the bits and pieces are there, but I think my wife would kill me. But they're only asking $2500.... hmmmm...

Careful Spifire:
You don't want to upset Mrs. SPitfre now, but erhaps Mrs. V12 could soften up the blow a bit. I can get her to have a chat the next time we all meet.
We saw that mark 7 on kijiji as well. We had a good chat about that car. We were actually in the Peterborough area last weekend for the Sunday BTW, if it hadn't been raining we would have made it a Jag search day.
We must find ways to include the women although I admit to having an unusually reverse problem with Mrs. V12, which is explaining to her why we cannot have an unlimited number of Jaguars. We have six cars and three parking sots for one thing.
So if anyone is between the area of Steeles Ave between Yonge St. and Leslie St. in Toronto or Vaughn maybe we could work out a parking deal eh?
I know that Mark 7 has been up for sale quite a while I am sure you could steal it.
Mark 7 also had a genuine XK engine making that part of the resto easy.
There is a fellow in the Jag club who's name I will not relay here, but he has a 1950 Mark 5 whch has a Standard engine. Much trickier to get parts for.
One last note, did you know that "Rowan Atkinson" (yes Mr. Bean) has in real life a special aluminium bodied Mark 7 that he RACES in vintage events?
Anyway its a good project for the committed and you may send four to five years on it with my take on your schedule.
However I do know a fellow who restored a Lamborghini Espada in eight months!!!
So a lot is possible.
Enough rambling I will stop now...and then go.

ATTN ERIC, Spitfire, Mirage1, AND anyone else who wishes to be invovled in the Jaguar fellowship.
The Ontario Jaguar Owners Association meeting is on the eight of September Wednesday night. Meetint starts at 8 PM.
Be there at 7:30 PM for pre-meeting introductions and bench racing.
Meet ME JustV12 in person! With the lovely Mrs V12 also in person!
Ok enough fun, I would truly enjoy meeting anyone on this forum that can make it out. Members are all over southern Ontario and drive to meetings for as long as three hours one way, so this must be good.

Hey Dan Bro:
Nice to hear from you. X-Types have their own following and I for one really like them. Do not let the car situation deter you from the Fellowship of the Jaguar.
Consider yourself invited to any and all events.
The Jag club meeting is once a month , tonight actually at 7;30 Etobicoke Montgomery's Inn. Most of the Jag club membership is from outside Toronto anyway so you are practically next door compared with some who drive from Peterborough.
Then there is Spitfire who drives from Peterborough all the way to Woodbridge on some Thursday nights for the Fiat Lanca party.
Anyway cheers, and if any advice is needed the X-Type forum will be your place.
But keep tabs on this forum and maybe join the GTA Jaguars in the social groups.

Just new to this site. Bought a 91 xjs v12 Convertible last Friday. Drove it home from Florida to Oshawa over the weekend and am in need of some help with a slight restoration. Looking for interior upholstery(seats and door pannels). Has sun damage but once it's painted....I'll be a proud cruiser!
Any ideas as to where I can get parts around here?
Thanks,
R

Can I assume that you have the car licensed for Ontario roads?
There are two immediate meetings which may be of interest to you.
Some of us try to meet on Thursday night in Woodbridge, where we crash the Fiat Lancia club's weekly party. I recomend this event as one of the liveliest in the GTA.
Tonight at 8 PM the monthl meeting for the Ontario Jaguar Owners Association is at Montgomery's Inn at Dundas and Islington.
Both of these events have people join us from as far as two hours away.
Also there are very well recomended auto trimmers that I have seen and who's work is very good. Before you do that though I wuld see if the leather can be brought back. With some feeding and softening and magic from some specialists you may be able to save the original.
Hard to say without seeing it though.
Well Ceers and hope to see you around.

Ok first off I have been really sick for a month...including a week in a really good hospital...I just got out a few days ago...and thats my excuse for being confused on dates...Can I have this little oversite overlooked???
I am still wandering around in a fog. Thank you all you kind people.
HERE IS THe SCOOP!
The Jag club meets are the second Wed of every month except summer and December where there seems to be a special meeting. This means NEXT Wed is the monthly meet!
I will however be at Woodbridge tomorrow night. The big meets are the FIRST Thursday of the month. That one I got right.
I have to go and take my temperature now...

Sorry, for not coming out to any events this year. I race a couple of cars and they tend to take up most of my free time. I will have to make time to come out for the Woodbridge Cruise sometime, just to say hi to my other Jag owners in the GTA.
What is funny is that I was walking my dogs this past summer and I noticed that a neighbour of mine had got rid of his XJ-12. I asked why and he said that he never drove the car, so it was a bit of a waste to own one. That and the fact that he couldn't take care of it properly.
How late in the year does the Cruise take place for?
Eric

Just so you guys know who I am, I own a BRG/ Cream Interior 2003 XJR that I bought at Budd's a few years ago. It has the BBS wheel package and the Brembo brake package. It sees very little use (about 5k a year) and while I have a bunch of other toys, 2 race cars an Explorer and a mid 70's F250 I got from the west coast that I play with all the time.
I race at Mosport, Shannonville Calabogie, ICAR, Toronto INDY, etc.... and while that is supposed to be fun, it seems like a ton of work to me. I think a cruise night every now and then could be fun.
