Default Buying Off Lease

Hi,

It seems impossible to purchase a Jaguar XF coming off lease from a private seller. They are always being filtered out of Jag dealerships or for the most part, used car establishments. How can I buy a car coming off lease so that I do not have to incur the markup of the middlemen.

Thanks so much!

These guys usually have a nice selection of Jags coming off lease and their prices seem fair: Used Mercedes Benz | Jaguar | Land Rover | Texas Cars Direct, Dallas, TX

The way I understand it is that cars coming off lease go to auction where Jag dealers get 1st refusal. Jag dealers rarely buy cars with over 30/35,000 miles.
Therefore lots of nice jags with over 35,000 miles show up at CarOffLease.com out of South Fl and Texas Cars Direct. Occasionally, these guys get hold of low mileage Jags too. Prices generally seem to be better than the dealers but not always.
Prices for nice 07 and up XKs have firmed up over the past 2 years no matter what the source.. Can't speak to the other Jags.

There is a company in Florida that sells off lease Jags of all kinds. They are located in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Check some of their listings on Craigslist for Miami. We were there recently looking at a 2010 XK with 32000 miles on it. Looked nice, clean and well looked after.

Hmm, it would seem that we need some places in Toronto no?
The hassle of importing a car from either direction can take the fun, not to mention the savings right out of it.

@ agamemnon, there are some import specialists up here if you really want to do this, but how about a good private sale?

Importing a car from the US is a simple process whatever the age. Just need to plan your steps,a ct on them and make things happen at the right time. The basics are whatever the price of the car, it will cost you 20% in duty costs and HST. What other costs are there. Get all the paper work from the US Jag dealers and modification unless you do them yourself.

Toronto Dealers charge $500.00 for recall documents, US dealers provide the same paper work for free. Do not continue to be ripped in Canada. It is a simple and straight forward process. Need help call me

I have looked a quite a few XK's and also SL550's on their site, and most have been in an accident. Wondering if their sales pitch is "sure, it was in an accident, but you can't tell by looking at it, due to the high quality of the repair. And look how much $ you can save"
