Default Need a Durham Region Mechanic

Hi Guys, I’m in Ajax. Just bought a 1994 6 Cylinder XJS convertible. It’s in great shape, but it’s still a Jaguar haha. I need a good non-dealer mechanic that is good at sourcing parts in the Pickering/Ajax/Whitby area. Oshawa May also be suitable.

Josh, I'm in Port Perry - did you ever find a mechanic?

No, I haven’t. If you’re comfortable working on XJS’s and can source parts, it would be great to have your info!

No - was wondering for my own sake. Not a Jaguar mechanic.

I live in Durham used to be a guy in Toronto called the Jag doctor was located in Scarbrough, former Jag master tech really knows his stuff. I also used the Cats Cradle before they moved to somewhere on St Clair west that was 4years ago. I had some health problems had to take a break wrenching ...try doing some of the work yourself a good set of tools, manuals and help from here will help you fix almost anything.

l know some other guys who work on earlier cars and nothing after Ford owned Jaguar also have some parts now but will be parting another car in May. l sent you a pm shoot me a text

I have a lead an an Oshawa based mechanic and I have another fella in Port Hope. Will update they’re appropriate for the car. The bigger issue seems to be parts, so I’ve been sourcing my own.

I spoke with “Jag doctor” he works mostly on newer Jags. Any 90’s and prior he didn’t seem interested nor particularly knowledgeable in helping.

The Cats Cradle moved from Toronto, St Clair/Keele back to his previous shop in Etobicoke, since then he’s shut up shop and vanished. A big shame as he definitely knew his stuff, also the Toronto location was within walking distance for me. All good things come to an end. Hopefully someone out there will come up with a contact.
