Hi Maxx-

That was me asking where you're from in your new members intro. This section of the forum is primarily for discussing events in Canada, looking for Canadian clubs, vendors, local contacts etc. or moaning about Harper, the Senate or mocking Rob Ford.

I'm not sure if you have full membership posting privileges yet, it takes a few posts plus a few days time.

Welcome Max, don't worry we all struggle at some point. Read the forum FAQs and ask questions, someone will help.

Thanks for the reply Mikey, before I go to the Canadian section can I ask what Im looking for when I get there. Is that where I am supposed to ask my questions? did get to a page with lots of catagories but so far nothing in the headlights section that refers to my specific problem. I will persevere for a while but doubt if I will be here long. By the time I figure out the site I will have out lived the car. Thanks for trying to help, Maxx

When you get to the Canadian section, or any section really, scroll down the list of topics to see if it's of interest or relevance to you. If you don't see it and are intimidated by the search function, start a new post asking your question.

For tech questions, you're probably best off heading to the specific section for your model of car and searching/asking there like you did with the headlights post...

You're free to post a question in any section you want, but it's best to pick the most relevant spot to get the widest variety of/best answers.

Don't think the guys in Florida would know too much about snow tires, maple syrup or Mike Duffy.

Ya but , I only pay attention to important things, he must be a politician, right,, anyway I just tried to start the car. Fired up but no lights, so I shut it off and tried again, now nothing, wont turn over and it makes a loud click from under the hood, lights come on, but the dash lights flash on and off. A boost changed nothing. any hints, Maxx

Does anyone know of a 1994 XJS being parted out close to Calgary? Looking for a few body parts and a few interior parts.

Thanks

As important as Puline Marois and Rob Ford. They all are destroying the country...

He and his family have been harassed, beaten, sued, threatened and stalked the whole time he has been in office. I would have been taking drugs, drinking and swearing a lot sooner than him had I been in his shoes.

He is the first politician that has kept every single election promise he made with the exception of one and he is still not finished with that one yet. He has lowered homeowner taxes and kept them low. Cut the peaks of council to control spending, stuck out for subways and still has a surplus of 249 million left over. Oh yes I call that destroying the country. Sorry we don't have more politicians like him. Speaktheir minds and get things done no matter who they **** off.

And I don't ever live or vote in Toronto. Just watch that 249 million disappear if he is forced to leave office.

I can't put Ford and Marois in the same category either.

It's sad to see Ford head into a tailspin but he's only hurting himself so far. Still getting the job done.

Marois on the other hand obviously never studied history in school, especially what went on in Germany in the late 30s. There again, maybe she did- there's too many parallels to just be a coincidence.

As far as the car, I am leaning towards the new battery to start with and will let you know, as far as Ford, I think to be fair across the board the entire Council should have pee tests before they throw stones. Like that would happen. Having said that Ford has admitted to breaking the law several times while in office and that can't be overlooked. Our people in charge can't be above the law . If they were then politicians would put a quarter pound of pot in their luggage and claim not mine when caught. ( Hatfield) Anyone else, your luggage, your contents. But not our politicians. Glad I don't follow politics. I just drive. Maxx

Also check any bad ground connections from the battery, starter and head-lights etc.

Welcome to the forum maxx,

Where in Ontario are you?

Definitely post your tech questions in the XJ-specific section.

What year and spec is your XJ?

Look forward to having you out to some of our local meets and events, next year of course.... things have wound down for the winter!

The Corvette displays because it's the first vehicle in your forum garage (see red arrow):

(click on the imageb to enlarge it)

You can either change the vehicle order in your forum garage or just add vehicle details to your Signature the same way as mine displays.

I love it when people say just or all you have to do. I couldn't find a way to switch orders or add the details you mentioned so I (just) deleted it. I imagine if I add it again it will be first again so I'll just leave it alone for now, thanks for trying to help . really, Maxx
