Well GT42R and Norri and Mrs Norri!
What a pleasant surprise it was to meet Norri, who is visiting us in Toronto. And GT42r, well what can I say, keep up the drive meet up plans. If two show up, its a meeting. tell us about it right here, and then another will show up, then a few more and before you know it you have a crowd. Just don't quit! It is exciting to see a younger person with the entusiasm and drive for Jaguars that you have. Please stay in touch, especially if you don't mind older types hanging around LOL.
Cars bridge the generation gaps in a great way.
Thank you three for coming out today. Very cool and very nice to meet you all!

Hi everyone! It was great to meet Norri and GT42R at the concours, and as always, it was a pleasure to see justV12 and his better half.
Norri - sorry I didn't get the chance to chat with you more at the event.
GT42R - get that engine bay cleaned up and ready for next years Concours! Lol.
justV12 - thanks for making the arrangements to have the F-type at the event. It was nice having 2 models to drool over. Mrs. Spitfire doesn't know it yet, but once those F-types start coming off lease in 3 years time, there will be one parked in my driveway beside my S-type.
I took a few pics of the event and wanted to share :
Here's GT42R's S-type R :

Och aye, the hat purchased from my friends at the "Scottish company" on Leslie st, just for the occasion.
And for those of you with REAL Scottish accents, Cheers!
Next year I will wear my Kilt, Promise!
Now by the way, that is a fine picture of GT's car. And an S-Type no less. No wonder Spitfire had his eyes on it. In fact, I remember leaving Spit and GT talking over that cars open bonnet while I was called away for my duties...
As I say, Cheers.

I went to the Toronto show. Thank you to all of those who worked hard to put it on. What a killer sun that day...totally not what anyone had anticipated based on the forecast.
Fell in love with the design of the new XJ there...despite it being out for a couple of years now. Felt like I really saw it for the first time. What an avant-garde shape. IMHO none of its competitors can hold a candle to it. I'm totally smitten.
Any pics of that stunning XK-120?

Wow you are not going to be very popular with the directors of OJOA if all the banished members of OJOA took you up on your offer and turned up that weekend. At my last count that would involve at least five ex"long time members" who are not welcome anymore. I also don't think any of them ever received reasons for their banishments, just poof you’re gone.
That is unless of course OJOA have decided to turn the page and let bygones’ be bygones. Diminishing membership sometimes has that effect on decisions.
However for those of you on the eastern side of Toronto. "The friendly club", Ottawa Jaguar club are holding their Concours the same day. Theirs is a mixed meet being staged at the aircraft museum in Ottawa. Jaguar Ottawa will also be there with their line up of cars and there are a number of other collector car clubs also involved. Mercedes Benz, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, BMW, Porsche, Titosi and de Tomasco. Of course not to forget the aircraft museum itself will also be open to visitors. It will be a real enjoyable day with lots to see for all the family.

I have no interest in the "club issue" being address in this thread, but would like to say that it would be wonderful if the Toronto and Ottawa concourse events could be coordinated somehow to prevent them being held on the same day.
People could attend both, have a great drive to either, depending on where one comes from, and not split the entrants unnecessarily.
Just my two cents...

In past years this was always done. However I can only think of one or two competitors from the Toronto club ever attending the Ottawa Concours and perhaps the other way round from Ottawa to Toronto. So this year it did not seem such a big deal to have them held on the same day.
The only exception to this that I can remember was in 2004 when the JONATtour took place and the participants in that event dropped in and took part in the Ottawa Concours. Great party followed by an even greater Concours.
Participation is the key. If you have enough people wanting to attend both, arrangements would be made to hold them on different days. All you have to do is let the clubs know before the dates are set that you intend to come, they will do the rest.
Regards Bob.

I imagine there is a limited number of participants for a Jaguar concours event so having two so close on the same day just seems like limiting your options unnecessarily.
I for one would have liked to attend both, not as a participant but as a spectator so that sounds like at least two of us.

Well I have already suggested to the guys at Ottawa that they try not to get them confused again. What it takes now is for the two clubs to talk to each other to make sure it does not happen again. Here's hoping that happens.
I am sure that if Daune is still involved in the Toronto Concours next year, that could happen. All it takes is just a short phone conversation or an E-mail to Mike O'Brien of the Ottawa club to sort it out.

If Duane is involved there are several things I would love to improve on.
Bob is right about numbers though I remember ten years back when the toronto jag club had
Near a hundred cars sometimes. The people are there and the enthusiasm exists. We need to work on
Some things and build the numbers back up.
As far as visiting other club concours I would be so up to it just time. I am so busy this summer I haven't
Seen my dinner table lots of fast food windows though.
For those who can, you gotta get to the Detroit concours! It is being held at the turn around point for the Woodward Ave dream cruise! If don't know what that is Google it. I did part if that cruise in the early '80's on a 1952 Harley Davidson. It has become giant!
So enter the concours and get a ringside seat and enjoy.
OK cheers all and by the way, the MK10 you see in the pics above? Well it is apparently now a winner in the preservation class first place champion. Hmmm,..I don't feel any different ?
