Default BMC Motorworks

Hi,
I don't have hands on experience, but before I bought my Jag I contacted a few places, including BMC for quotes. They were much more costly than British Classic Auto - who have exclusively done work on my XJ8 and now on my Xtype. I am very pleased with their service and quality of work and they know their British cars.

Hope that helps.
Cheers

How's their service and price?
That would be the closest location for me. Hehehe... I'm currently doing most of maintenance by myself. :P Trying to save money..

Hi ndy4eva. I've been going there for a while now and have been very happy with their service. They have quite a few parts in stock, at reasonable prices and they always consult with me before going ahead with any work.

Default V12

So would you say they are well familiar with the particularities of our V12 beasts ? I have been to silk cat and am impressed with them but they are pricey and require a long haul... I live in Port Moody.

Default 2000 xj8

My XJ8 needs some to have the transmission replaced / repaired. I live in Vancouver and was hoping someone could recommend a place to get it done at a reasonable price.

A friend suggested taking it to a transmission specialist instead of a garage like Sovereign Motors, XJ8 Motors, BMC, etc. but I'm not sure.

Just switched from Bimmer 3 to a 2005 S-Type VDP. Love the silent whoosh! Missing the second key fob so now figuring out most cost effective way of getting one. Richmond Jag quotes $220 for key fob (apparently has to be cut in the US) and $60 programming. Saw new uncut keyfobs on eBay for $80'ish but where to go for the cut?

Dellery, you can try calling around a bunch of locksmiths, but I'd be surprised to find one for this. Does anyone else use the same style key?

Google "jaguar key cutting" one of the places can be seen here. They're in Australia, but who cares?

Thanks for the fob info folks. Looks like there are several options I can take without paying full deal through the Jag dealer.

Hey party people,

I'm in Maple Ridge, currently on my second kitty (2001 XJR). I previously owned a 2002 XJ-Executive. I see that most of you have some minor problems that can easily be addressed, I do almost all the work myself on my kitty. I just don't trust anyone to tinker with her, her name is Valda. It's nice to connect with everyone, we should all get together and exchange kitty stories and experiences. Drop me a line if interested.

Cheers,

I'm in for a meet. Maybe a coffee night, meet at a Starbucks or a Timmys somewhere?
