Default Black Cat......2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged detailed by Innovative Detailing

One of our Jaguar forum members called me to come out and provide my paint correction
and detailing services on their previously owned and newley acquired 2009 Jaguar XF.
Donna and Justin had recently relocated from San Diego to my hometown of Tustin
which made this service convenient for both of us.....

Now for the surface defects that needed to be corrected and were very extensive.
Its such a shame that someone (previous owner) would be so harsh on such a fine vehicle

Let the challenge begin!

Fortunately I found this 2009 XF to have somewhat soft paint, which made for a nice correction.

Here is the prep stage getting the vehicle thoroughly cleaned starting with the motor.

Passenger side wheel wells had road stripping paint splattered up inside, we were able to clean up most of what was visible.

Close inspection of the paint showed me the tell tale signs of how this XF was cared for in the past......

"Danger" viewing this may cause the Jaguar afficionado to get sick to your stomach and or yell......

Stunning work and exemplary photo record of all the steps involved.

Interested in a little summer vacation?

We are going to put together a rally/drive in the Bordeaux, France area.

I am sure you can make enough to cover your trip in style if you want.

cheers,

jj

Nigel T, Thank you as well.....I always make it a point to clay the glass and lights/lenses...figure if the paint is succeptable to all of these daily contaminants, then so are the other areas as well..

Next time you know to incorporate this into your routine...

When I clay my glass, I notice water beads up and rolls off a lot better since there is no longer any contaminates for it to stick to.

This thread was a real "Good News, Bad News" one for me. First the "Bad", the "Before " photos could be of my recently obtained 2007 XK coupe with 73,000 miles. My BRG paint seems to be soft and it has all of the shown issues. I have no idea how someone could do that to any car. ( Would the fact that it started as a lease be a clue ?)
Now the "Good" news. This fine post, and others , prove that with knowledge, today's technology, and effort these fine looking autos can be restored to the their former glory.
It looks like I am about to move the space heater to the garage, and become a major investor in Meguiars Inc.

David, fantastic job on the XF! I am guessing that the correction compound removed most of the swirls. After that, did you use DA Microfiber Finishing Wax - D301? Or as per your previous recommendations, gone on to use M205 & M21? Thanks for your assistance in advance.
