Hi everyone,
I'm working on an XJR (see my intro thread HERE) that has some bad oxidation spots and just poor paint condition in general.
Some steps I took to clean the car up were first to wash the car, then a small section at a time:
1) Clay bar
2) Wash
3) Clay bar check
4) Took several passes with a 8 out of 10 cut and a yellow pad
5) Polish
6) Repeat Cut and polish as needed
7) Took it down to a 5, then 3 out of 10 cut and worked from yellow pad, to green, to orange.
8) Used polish agents with blue pad
9) Once satisfied, waxed with a P21-S
Showing poor paint condition and a bad oxidation spot on the trunk:

As I was cleaning the gas cap drain filter, you can really see how bad the condition of the paint is:

Thank you very much! All the sweat was worth it for the way she shines now.

Well, the cutting compound just has an arrow that points at the level of cut on an incline on the back, so the only way I knew how to describe it on here was with a numbering system. Here's how it looks on the bottle:

As for the grill, I just took it out, soaked it, washed it, took some chrome polish to a pad and worked at it, then took a small pad and fitted it to my dremel and then used more of the chrome polisher and then buffed it out. Turned out very nice but was very time consuming/tedious going hole-by-hole.
Thanks again everyone!
