Ceramic coating vs PPF

Ceramic coating vs PPF
Hi guys, new member!
I registered because I am considering getting my car protected… My house is linked to the road by a track, and every day I have to drive through that, I was ok with it until I noticed that my car got scratches because of the stones.
I went online and talked to friends to try and find a solution and I came up with 2 ideas:
First: get some protection film on my car (called PPF for “paint protection film”): the idea is to wrap your car in a thin layer of plastic to protect it from scratches. It is said to give a decent protection against scratches and some of them are even self-healing. However, this is expensive and it can alter the shine and looks of the car.
Second: ceramic coating, from what I understood it is a liquid coating that is applied by detailers, it is cheaper, gives a shiny look and good protection (9H pencil-scale seem to be the highest one), it is also hydrophobic (meaning water won’t stick to it) which makes the car easier to clean. For the downsides: the final result depends on how well the guy who applies it works and it the protection provided is less good than for films.
So my question for you today is, which one should I go for? My heart goes to PPF by a tinny margin but I’d like to hear your thoughts on this.
Thanks in advance!
PS: I searched on the forum a bit and I could not find an existing thread on this topic so if that's the case I am sorry about it.

Ahahah yeah I agree Vee,
However I got my answer on another forum.
So lemme share the knowledge:
PPF will provide a good protection, and decent hydrophobicity (that helps the cleaning) and an ok gloss. Ceramic coating on the other hand will provide a much lesser protection, a very good hydrophobicity and an awesome gloss.
Hence you can trust the PPF for the rock chimps and the ceramic coating for the looks!
I decide to go for a combo of both: I had it wrapped first (I don't remember the name of the brand) and then I got it topped up by a ceramic coating called Kenzo, it is manufactured by IGL Coatings: they are specialised in green and clean products. It is a 2-layer coating that provides a hardness of 10H (maximum possible), an hydrophobicity of 120 degrees and you should see the shine man! I am a bit old school and my camera is broken and I don't have a very good camera on my phone so lemme give you the link to their FB page so you can see!
Anyways, so far so good but I have to see how it gets in the long run!

Ahahah yeah I got a bit sad to get no answer!
Anyways, I got my answer on another forum:
Basically PPF provides good protection vs rock chimps, a decent hydrophobicity and an ok look. On the other hand, ceramic coatings offer a much lesser protection, but an excellent hydrophobicity and an awesome shine.
So I just decided to go for both, it is expensive but you get the best of both!
I don't remember the name of the wrap but the ceramic coating I got applied is called Kenzo from a company called IGL coatings. They claim to be green and clean and it kinda got me. Kenzo is one of the hardest on the market (10H) and offer a magnificent shine, the hydrophobicity is also one of the best and it is 2-layer coating.
My camera is broken and the one on my phone is really bad so I'll just drop the link to their FB page (hopefully I wont be seen as a spammer ahahah).
I hope it helped you!
