So I love the inside of my car as much as the outside. I use meguiar's leather wipes on the inside. They do an awesome job. However, I don't know what to use for the woodgrain. What do you all use to keep your woodgrain looking good?

Moved so you can hopefully get better responses. Do a search though as I'm sure this has cropped up before

Wood Trim
The ‘wood’ trim in most vehicles (some Aston Martin, BMW, Jaguar, Lexus and Mercedes Benz models use real wood) which is protected with a urethane clear coat, polyurethane or a thin lacquer, which is very easily scratched.
· Clean with a chemical cleaner (Klasse All-In-One or Zaino Z-AIO) and then buff with a clean micro fibre towel
· Remove scratches with a fine polish (Menzerna PO85RDor 3M Plastic Polish and Cleaner)
· Maintenance- use an anti-static plastic cleaner (Iz einszett Cockpit Premium) which includes UV protection, alternate by using a clean damp micro fibre towel

I thought about using pledge but didn't know if it would harm the finish or hurt my leather should I accidentally get a small amount on it.

I've heard that some people use Carabu (? spelling) wax. Is it ok to wax the wood?

Great question 03X

Here is what I use and my suggestions......

Many of the mfg's, mostly highline vehicles use a real wood veneer that is then given multiple coats of urethane or laquer for the gloss, depth and protection. Inexpensive vehicles offer a simulated wood grain trim but this is generally an imitation of the real made of poly's and plastics.

Its always best to take the least aggressive approach in maintaining any glossy finish, and those of the interior are very susceptible to scratching easliy. I usually resort to any of the following products for the interior wood trim or plastics such as Nav screens, Dash cluster covers and radio face plates.

1) Einztette Cockpit Premium Interior Cleaner

Pro - Nice clean scent, no oily film or residue, great for all surfaces, Awesome for Nav screens and shiny wood trim, no static finish

Con - Expensive

2) Meguiar's D-149 Quick Interior Detailer

Pro - Nice clean lemon scent, no greasy or oily film or residue and great for regular wipe down and maintence, also non static and affordable

Con - None yet, just started using this product, new for 2011

3) Diamond Professional Blue Mist

Pro - Have been using this for years, leaves a wonderful shiny finish and no oily residue and also has a nice scent. Ideal for shiny wood, metal, and plastic surfaces for a last touch...also affordable

Con - None

All of these products are in my box......they are all extremly good and easy to use. Just remember to always use a very soft and clean Micro Fiber towel when using the above products
