I gave up with dangly ones, now I always get myself an 'Aircon Bomb' when I pick up a used car, they are fantastic at getting rid of the used musty smell and don't leave you with an over the top sweet sickly odour in the car, just fresh and clean smelling. I found the Dakota ones are the best and picked it up here
