Pinnacle Contest Wax Winner review
Well it's been about 4 weeks or so, since I won the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond detail kit. Weather here is finally nice enough to complete the detailing of one of my premium sports cars. Although I won the contest here on Jaguar Forums, just before winning I did a detail job on my 2009 Jaguar XKR Portfolio Edition Convertible using the Opticoat 2.0 product.
Now, I have used the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond products on my 2014 Porsche Cayman 981. So I can make an honest comparison between the Black Diamond Label and Opticoat2.0. Lets start.....
The Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coating product I received was a complete kit. Clean Surface Polish, Paint Coating, Glass Coating, Wheel Coating. I highly recommend anyone considering this DIY detailing BUY THIS KIT. It is professionally packaged, looks great just from opening the packing box. Opticoat 2.0 is sent a small box, which is not very impressive. The Black Label kit has EVERYTHING any car owner needs to complete an awesome professional result. With the Opticoat 2.0, I had to purchase additional materials to complete the detail work on the Jaguar. So buy the Pinnacle Kit as I mentioned.
The quantity of product in the Pinnacle kit is plenty, not just for one car, but several. The Pinnacle spray containers measure 4 oz. each. The Clean polish measures 8 oz. There are 2 blue microfiber towels of profesional quality, 2 hand applicators, that fit over your 4 fingers, and 2 foam block applicators.
The Opticoat 2.0 comes in a "funky type" syringe with only 20 cc's or .67 oz. and a small round foam applicator. There is no comparison between the 4 oz of Pinnacle products vs .67 oz. of Opticoat 2.0. The Pinnacle Black Diamond comes in handy spray bottle while the Opticoat 2.0 is in a large medical type syringe. I did not like using the syringe. In fact when pulling the syringe back I pulled it out of the tube losing most of the product. That was a waste of $79.99 and the people at Opticoat 2.0 need to change this method of delievery for the end consumer. Therefore just on packaging alone, I suggest DO NOT BUY the Opticoat 2.0 in the syringe.
First, I hand washed the Porsche 981. I bought a Meguiars Gold Clay Bar set and used it on the Porsche to remove any contaminents, and make the paint surface smooth as glass. This was a 1 1/2 hour process. I then applied the Clean Surface Polish to remove any previous wax. Then buffed the car with the microfiber towels from the kit. Then went on to the Diamond Paint Coating. It was easy to apply and should be applied in sections of the car. Once applied, I let it dry for about 1 minute then buffed it out. Wow, what a smooth slick finish. I completed the entire car, including inside door sills in about 1 1/2 hours.
Go slowly when applying the paint coating and not to thick. It buffs out easy with a thin coat. I suggest NOT to spray the paint coating directly onto the paint surface due to overspray from the bottle, but to spray the product on the foam block applicator instead, then apply. After completing the paint coating, I moved to the glass coating, making sure the windows where clean, The glass coating took about 20 minutes and you need to work in small sections as this product drys very quickly in seconds, not minutes. The result is unbelievable as shown in my photos. On to the wheels with the Wheel Coating. A portion of the Porsche wheels are chrome, and it worked well on the chrome.
So bottom line, what a product. Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Coatings really rock. This is a great value ($199.99) because of the quantity. Once you complete one car, you will want to complete a detail job on every car you own.
Thanks for the winning draw. I am so pleased with this product and now I am a living testimonial and endorser of this product.
The 2014 Porsche 981 turned out beautiful. I have to assume this detail job as DIY vs a professional detail shop would cost about $800 to $1000 from a professional detailer. If careful and patient and doing the detail work in the proper way, you can save tons on money, and have a beautiful automobile to boot.

Thanks Rich
Awesome review Rich
The Porsche looks absolutely stunning. I love the 981 and I gotta say that the wheels look great on the car
I'm glad you thoroughly enjoyed this kit and had such great results. The car looks great but better yet it has superior protection on it that will last 3 years. Pinnacle was born of a desire to create a line of premium auto care products for the enthusiast, a person who strives for perfection in every detail. For Pinnacle to be the best, it had to meet the standards of this connoisseur of car care, and even exceed those standards. We love dealing with people like you because we know how much you love your cars.
We appreciate the great review and I will definitely share your success story with everyone here at PinnacleWax
Also Congrats on the Veteran Member status
