Default Waxing your rims?

Has anybody ever done this? did it do anything for the rim? did it help keep your rims cleaner longer? any tips to doing it?

Thanks

Mat

Logic is since you wax your polished chrome why not wax your chrome wheels .You can also use soap and water .Even solely using water makes a difference on my wheels .

AHHhhhh Danielson...wax on/wax off. I personally wax just about everything including wheels.

Hey Matt, sumthin I've been lookin into as well. Looks great from the reports I've seen...check out detailing world for some answers

Spent a few hours on my A6 today, washed n dried, door shuts, engine compartment treated, tyres blacked, ( Alloys just cleaned with soap n water to date but about every 3-4 days so the dirt n grime don't get a chance to bed in ) then treated her to Poorboys Black hole Glaze as she's a lovely blue colour and it works well......it has some filler element to hide some of the slight swirling I have until I get round to correcting it.
If its a nice day tommorow its off with the wheels for a good clean round the back and gona repaint the calipers n hubs ( just silver - no boy racer red for me, just doesn't go with the car! )

Yep, I wax them if they're painted. I don't know about waxing polished/machined/chromed. I never waxed the machined finish wheels on my 540, but I do on the Jag since they're painted.
