I would not assume that the batteries have a sufficient charge. Brand new does not equal a properly working battery. And yes, that can be true for two fobs. Especially true if it just rolled off the lot.
The behavior you are describing is precisely what the owners manual tells you to do when the battery does not have a sufficient charge. The procedure exists is so that if your fob dies while you are on a road trip, you can at least continue to start your car.
It is easy as an owner to replace the battery. But of course, you can have the dealer perform the swap if you do not feel up to the task. For me, just getting into a dealership right now takes weeks or more, but I am sure you will find the right course of action for you.
Edit: If the first thing you think of is “Well, the door locks still work, it just wont start the car” I would urge you to consider that I did not say the battery is dead. I said that the condition of the battery is not acceptable, It is not a properly working battery. When the battery holds a weak charge the performance of the fob becomes questionable. And again, it is not odd or strange that it could happen to two fobs at the same time.

The main battery I guess you mean. I replaced the fob battery but same result.
yea i know vehicles are delivered with depleted batteries. I have a Battery Tender. Im going to charge it on your suggestion.
i have an appointment with dealer. If this is in fact the issue I wonder If I should just let them replace it.
thanks for the reply
