Manual gear shift remove knob?
#2
Neil,
I see there has been 132 Views of your question but no one has ventured a Reply! Let's see if a reply prompts some useful further discussion.
I'm probably at a greater disadvantage than other readers in that I haven't seen a manual E-Pace gear knob and had to find a photo.
The fixing principle is likely to be the same as used on other Jaguars - unobtrusive but very secure.
Is there a tiny hex locking screw in the metal collar at the bottom of the gearknob? This is the way XJ, XK and F-Type are removed:
The hex screw is slackened (but not removed) to allow the locking (green) collar to screw off the (blue) gear knob. The gear knob can then be unscrewed from the gear lever.
JEPC (Jaguar Electronic Parts Catalogue) for your model shows the metal collar is part of the Gear Level Gaiter (item 3) so that collar must have to be released from the gear knob before the knob can be unscrewed:
It may have a locking screw or it may just rotate to release.
