1967 E-Type Series 1.5 4.2L engine ground strap location?
Craig S. Nelson, US Navy (ret), McPherson College Auto Restoration senior, graduate in May 2016, summer intern at a shop, final assembly on a '67 E-Type Series 1.5 with the 4.2L engine.
Just checking in with the E-Type community to determine the most correct location for the engine ground strap?
At the moment I have no good reference pictures, the XK Ltd Parts book with no good diagrams, and the official factory service manual with no diagrams. The only clue states "left side member".
I have the 6" ground strap from XK Ltd.
My #1 choice is on the left side by the transmission bell housing.
My #2 choice is on the left side by the left front engine mount.
I can always be reached at (619) 944-8971 or nelscra@bulldog.mcpherson.edu.
Thanks.

I went with choice #1. One end of the strap goes to the lower left "member" bolt while the other end lines up with the 3rd bell housing bolt on the left side of the transmission.
Resistance and continuity checks are consistently 0.3 to 0.5 ohms between the starter and all chassis points from front to rear.
Thanks for the confirmation.
