I recently applied for a Jaguar Heritage certificate for my '65 E-type.
When I received the certificate it stated that my car had been built with a black-on-black color scheme. I looked up color combinations in the Haddon E-type book and this particular combination doesn't appear to be listed as a standard factory paint/interior scheme.
I would like to know if my car has a special-order color combination, or this was just an oversight by Haddon (or me!).
Any assistance with my inquiry would be appreciated.

 

According to Nigel Thorley's Jaguar - All the Cars (fourth edition), Black paint was available in the standard range to 1972. It also shows Black-on-Black was not a standard factory Exterior/Interior colour combination.

He's usually a reliable authority so it looks like you have a special order specification.
