Adjusting rear hand brake

Any reason you want to adjust, like have just put back the rear brakes assembly, or the handbrake is not working well etc ?
The rear handbrake calipers are supposed to be self adjusting. One only sets up the cable at assembly time, pull the handbrake lever a few times to get the adjusters to adjust then that's it, in theory. Unfortunately the self adjusters seize up over time, as do the pivot pins. The location of the handbrake calipers mean they never gets the attention they deserve.
