Default Alternator part #'s

In having my car worked on last week, there was an interesting find concerning the alternator. The part number is 235280 (see pic) doesn't seem to correspond to what typically would be found in a S2 car with my VIN (alternator part number A1113 matches). I have all records regarding the car from the previous owner but haven't seen anything on the alternator being switched out. The harness matches my alternator though the alternator bracket (Series 2) was clearly modified to accept the 235280 alternator.

Anyone know which model alternator 235280 is intended for? Thank you.

What I'm going to tell you now is very confusing, so:

1) A1113 isn't an OE part number, it's a Lucas Remanufactured pn for a 60a alternator. Lucan Reman is a specific rebuilder, not the Lucas company itself. The Lucas OE PN would look like what's stamped on your case.
2) That said, I can't find a reference for 23528D. If you can find someone with full access to the Lester Catalog, the Lester PIC is 280-095. My catalog doesn't go back to that number, but maybe someone with online access can help.
3) It's visually identical to the E-Type 60A units, but the only way to know would be to bring it to a rebuilder and have them perform an output test.

10AC 235280 will do mini's - escorts & so on as a sample, if the amp rating is correct for your model it shouldn't be a problem
