Default Careful Mate.....

I've had Bartlett do a whole interior for about that much with new Leather.

At best they're 30 years old, don't price yourself out of the market!

Caveat Emptor, right!

Have a great Holiday and hope you find a home for your seats....

Cheers

Default Hey Mate

With all respect, you don't have a clue......... The leather cost to redo the interior of a 66 e-type is way more than two grand US$......... And of course the seats are thirty years old, before reupholstering........ The seats were manufactured in the late 1960's.... Are you solvent?

I appreciate your Merry Xmas, but unless you know the car, don't comment on my thread....... It makes you look bad..............

Default Well Respected......

Mate

Obviously you have little respect for my comment. That is of course of no concern. I have restored and preserved over 30 E-types since owning my first new E-type in 1970. The fact is the only leather used in all 3 series of E-type, is on the seat face, the rest is vinyl covered. The correct Dunopillows under the seat backs and bottoms are available for a couple hundred dollars and stripping and baking soda blasting the frames takes a few minutes. If you take the frames to an upholstery shop, it is true, you will be able to spend far more than the figure I mentioned previously.

The take out seats you have are more than 20 years old mostly likely. The head rest foam usually breaks down first, but the dunlopillows will offer little useful support for a human over 80 lbs. at that age. I have also bought New Old Stock factory seat covers from a Dealer that was going out of business and when examined were really only good as patterns.

So I have more than a clue, I know the whole answer. And yes I will avoid your posts in future since you are unable to distinguish an attempt at a friendly suggestion from some perceived threat.

I still hope you are able to place your seats.

Good luck in the New Year !

Robert

Default Clarification

Mate:

I appreciate your knowledge and intent to assist with my sale of the Jaguar seats.
What you fail to understand, which irks me, is the simple law of Supply and Demand, be it Keynes or Laffer.............. It's not about your insanely good deal buying leather for your dashboard and ****........... (Or your thirty jags).

Jaguar seats, like any commodity, are valued based on 'Supply and Demand'.

I don't give a flying rats' *** if Margaret Thatcher kissed the dunlopillows or if Winston Churchill drooled on the head rest foam......... That's not the point.....!!!

These seats are very difficult to find, see? Thus, the price will find its equilibrium near where I have priced them........... It's called the theory of "Purchase Price Parity".....

Cheers Mate, hope you are cool................

Best regards,

Geoff

Do you have any pics you can post? I have a 73 XKE V12 E series III roadster with black interior. Wondering if these will work?

Any questions?
Are they SII or SIII? There is a difference.

Default Flown off the shelf !

Leopard

I see that you have not reported the seats sold or bothered to answer a serious inquiry for your bargain seats.

And to bkeats and timduro, I'm not sure he knows the difference. If he were a serious seller he would have posted all the necessary information.

So be careful, it is always the best policy.....

Hi Robert,
Agreed. I'm not in the market for any, just pointing out that there's a difference and that they should be advertised as one or the other.

Regards,

Bill
