The vitreous enamel coatings on the exhaust manifolds never lasts long. You're probably better coating them with matt-finish modern coatings. Jaguar eventually gave up on enamalling the exhaust manifolds.

Welcome to the forums Beginner,

(I've amended your thread title.)

A newly restored E-Type must have come with a large addition and garantie?

If you're looking to have a 100 point concours car then go with porcelain and relegate the car to being a trailer queen or display piece. If you plan to drive it.....quick, get some high concours points before putting on many miles. Soon as you start driving it the deterioration of the manifolds finish begins. First few drops of rain water that drip through the louvers will begin to kill the porcelain finish. Best bet is a high tech baked on finish such as Jet Hot etc. Looks terrific and will last but a matt sheen is the best you'll do.

Well,
Dear jag lovers, thanks for the hints..
Yes, the restoration bill was high as 1800hours during 4 years were spent for it...!and the garanty goes with it.
Otherwise, good feeling when driving it.
my guess was that Jaguar England was outsourcing parts from China..!( it happens also that some bolts are too weak ( the restorer make a stretching tests for all the new bolts before mounting the motor block..))
Icould you then advice me a couple of good modern coating workshops in France or Germany..( UK might be more difficult due to custom nowadays..?&#128521
Regards to you fellows!
cheerio.

Best bet is Jet-hot coating. I've had two sets of manifolds coated with their Satin black.. a very nice sheen. No, not concours acceptable, but I can drive the car without having to worry about rain or a puddle splash, hitting the hot manifold and causing the enamel to shatter.
