Bruce, it's easier if you remove the gauge from the car first. Just pull off the connectors.
Hold the body of the gauge in one hand and the bezel in the other and twist. There are small tabs on the back of the bezel that line up with gaps in the front flange on the body. If it won't move you can CAREFULLY lift the tabs on the bezel a small amount and twist.
