Indeed, John! I remember Jay before the Tonght Show and was a remarkable comedian, a good host, and ironically, I think he is one of the best car historians, or at least "caretaker" as he humblely and accurately calls himself. I think he has done more for the hobby, preservation, etc. than anyone I can think of because of his scope of appreciation and vast interest in every aspect of vehicles. It would have been more fun not to know what was under the tarp (and waterheaters!) while watching the video, but I might not have watched otherwise.

Without trying to be morbid, Jay realizes his own mortality like us all, and I would think his collection would eventually find its way into a museum where it belongs. I don't see ,money being his prime motivator, but sharing an appreciation of cars. Honestly, if anyone deserved to find this E-Type, it was Jay. It will be exciting to track the car's progress!

For sure. Here in MI the E types that have been locked up waiting for revival are a rusty far cry from that magnificent car. I have to reflect heavenly on that and my long road ahead as I head out to my garage to do some work on my 70 roaster project!! Cheers!

Before it disappears, look at this!
1962 Jaguar E Type | Trade Me Motors

Same color 'n everything.
$NZ310,000 = $US191,000. Is that reasonable? (the price, not the exchange rate)

Before you buy it and disappears??! This color is truly becoming more and more appealing to me, though maybe it is the condition of the car that enhances that aspect.
