Default In-Line Fuse size - S3 V12

The in-line fuse that protects the radiator cooling fans and the horns burned out on my 1972 V12 E-type, taking the fuse holder with it - I assume the wrong size fuse had been installed when I got the car. Because of the damage to the fuse holder, I can't see what size of fuse had been put in.
I've replaced the fuse holder, but now don't know what size (current rating) of fuse to put in. SNG Barratt only supply 35Amp and 50Amp fuses for the E-type, but the 35Amp seems big for the application. Does anyone know the correct size for this fuse?

I don't know the answer.

To give some frame of reference my Ser III sedan uses a 15 amp fuse for the e-fan. My old XJS used 25 amp, as I recall.

If nobody comes along with the correct rating you could start small (10 amp, let's say) and if it blows outright, move up a few amps.

Bear in mind the difference in amp rating systems, British versus North American.

Thanks for the reply - I have a 20amp fuse in at the moment, but will go for a smaller one.
By the way, what is the difference in amp ratings between British & US?

Assuming you're referring to the inline fuse just above the battery - I checked my '73 and it's a Lucas 17 amps continuous, 35 amp peak fuse. A 20 amp replacement will likely be OK but it might blow occasionally. Here's a couple of photos of the fuse. I rolled it over so you could see the whole label.

That's great - thanks very much for taking the trouble to check it out. The 35A peak I got from SNG Barrett will be the right ones. Thanks again.
