Default Monkee Jag!

I have been without a Jag for almost 20 years now, and recently acquired a 1950 Mark V. However, I miss my first Jag which is pictured here;

When I purchased this car, it had the original invoice from Hollywood Sports Cars with Michael Nesmith of the rock group “Monkees” as the proud new owner. I loved this car, but it got the nickname "The Grand Car”. Sounds cool, but unfortunately it was called this because every time I drove it it cost me a "grand" to fix it! Anyway, I sold it to a Film Producer in Argentina. Took it to the Port of Los Angeles, loaded it into a shipping container and I never saw it again. DANG I miss this vehicle!

Another member of the 'wish I'd never sold that one' club! The E-Type alone would be very valuable now even without the first owner provenance.

In the UK many owners of high value cars have their vehicles taken to a port, put in a container and they never seen them again. The difference is the trip isn't voluntary and it's becoming a serious issue over here.

It's amazing how many "I wish I had kept the E Type" stories people post.

It's that hindsight thing we all talk about. I wonder if the car is still around?

At least the guy did a proper restoration on the vehicle. I did hear from him about two years after selling it and he said he did a "Nut and Bolt ground up restoration". My only complaint is that he did it in red, and put in a biscuit interior. Not my favorite exterior color (certainly not what the original car had which was Sable Brown).

Another of "The one that got away" stories comes from my Dad. He had a 1936 Cord 810 Supercharged. He was having trouble getting brakes for it, so he got rid of it "back in the day" for $200.00. OUCH!!!!!
