Hi All,
Do not have a picture of this (can get if needed), but will try to explain.
Just replaced the fuel pump on my 1971 series III 2+2 V-12. From the leads clipped on the pump, they go to a splitter, one wire after the splitter loops back around to the other lead with a diode looking thing 'in line' with wax ends. The whole wire is about 6~8" long at best, the wire coming out of one end of this 'diode' looking thing broke off right at the wax seal. Pump is still in the boot spare tire well, not re-installed in fender well yet. Pump does run along with the car without this wire connected.
What is this diode looking thing and how where would I get a replacement? Is it necessary?
Thanks!!
Mark

The Wiring Schematic Drawing just shows an Inline Snap Connector, and the four S3 E's I have in the shop, ranging from 1972 through 1974, all only have this snap connector (White coloured wire). The pump will run (half run) with only one end points connected, but that end will work twice as hard.

You should have a hard copy of the wiring schematic in your car's operating manual. However, please find a copy in PDF Form attached here, as well as a picture of the area that is of interest to you.
The item I've labeled as a Snap Connector is indicated as such in the legend of the schematic, and appears physically as a snap connector in the four cars I have here to look at.
Regards,
Bill
