Our Denver restoration shop sold a very nice Series I E-Type OTS to a customer in Kansas City last year, and told the gentleman he'd need to have the mixture adjusted for KC's 1100' altitude, since it was tuned & jetted for Colorado's 6000'. I gave the man a recommendation for a British car shop in KC I heard about, but he's been waiting months to get it in--turns out the tech works out of his home. Could any group member suggest a shop with deep XKE experience I could recommend to him? KC area would be nice, of course, but competence and business-like operation is more important. The car could be sent a reasonable distance as long as the altitude is similar. Thanks for any help!!

 

There are a few good shops in St. Louis that can easily set up his carbs. It’s Alive Automotive www.itsaliveauto.com, or Le Stable just across the Mississippi in Illinois lestable.com
St. Louis is 250-300 miles east. There is probably a place nearer to Kansas City but I’m not aware of any. I could do it for him myself but I am not a professional.
