New E-Type Owner -1965 4.2 FHC
I just took delivery of a 1965 E-Type FHC.
The car came with a bunch of pix of the restoration and various family pix with the car, along with almost 300 receipts back to the early 80's

I'm confused?? Your E is dated as a September '64 build 4.2. It is my understanding production of the 4.2 switched over from the 3.8 to the 4.2 with updated interior in October of 1964 according to several restoration/authentication publications. Interesting in that my Jaguar Heritage certified October '64 E OTS was produced with the last of the 3.8's mated to a Moss box, and a handful of 4.2 interior changes not including the newer reclining seats. Who knows how all this fell together during the production changeover?

Interesting observation Lotibob,
I think one explanation is that Jaguar sold more OTS than coupes. This would create a situation where the OTS car assembly was still trying to fulfill existing 1964 orders, while the coupes were being built for recent orders and for anticipated 1965 sales. But in reality; who knows. Seems to me that implementation of running changes and improvements on the assembly line was more an art than a science.
Bill.

Yesterday I took it to one of the local Jag repair places and we spent 3 hours going over it. It has a couple of oil leaks, and a diff leak which has soiled one of the brake pads. There's random bolts missing here and there. It needs a valve adjustment, and I need to spend some quality time under it with a grease gun and gear oil pump.
