Default Oil and Water Temp Gauges

I'm in the final stages of restoring a 67 FHC and I wanted to test my various gauges before I put them back in the car. Does anyone know how to test the gauges reasonably simply? I'm not looking for an accurate calibration just an idea of whether they're dead or not.

Thanks

simple to test water temp. Boil some water, stick in temp sender, connect sender to gauge, connect 12 V supply and read off temp gauge.
