Default old vs new Jags

I got out on Sunday to the Ancaster British car show and swap meet. Lots of Jags, quite a few E-types, and a gorgeous F-type parked beside me for an impromptu photo shoot. I only had a small issue with sludge in the fuel filter so I had to slow down to 105 km/hr. I replaced the filter today and all is well again.

I have been thinking about a new F-type, but I think an older model is the best. Might have to change filters and fluids a little more often and pet the paint with some good wax occasionally, but beats having to go to the dealer all the time for the new car, since the older ones are a breeze to keep up.

With the increasingly complex and delicate electronics on Jaguars, I don't expect there will be many around in another 48 years time like your E-Type.

Different worlds, different people, different motivations and often different life stages.

You have only got to have a brief look across some of the forums here to see the different groupings. As Graham says the sheer complexity of these units will weigh on them over time , but that just makes them cheap toys for the future. The original owners/leasee will have taken most of the depreciation. A slightly broken and dysfunctional F type will still probably be a heap of fun.

In my opinion you can never beat the classics, but we will probably say the same thing about the F-type in 50 years. Both beautiful cars.
