Default Originality of my e type, Help

Hello All, I just acquired a 1972 e type 2+2, 37 original miles.

Questions about the authenticity of it originality.

what is the color of the factory primer? there are some chips with a red primer color coming thru.

Is it common for original paint to start checking with heat? the hood is checked only.

Would there have been small amounts of overspray on the car from the factory?

Based on my original '73 Roadster w/ 25K miles:

Factory primer is red

I've not seen any checking on my car but I've seen it on others with a lot of heat and sun exposure. It may depend on the color too. Not sure it's a common problem.

I have a very small amount of overspray in the engine compartment and am quite sure it's from the factory. I suspect they may have done some touch-ups during or after assembly.

Leyland cars enamel paint would check from heat, sun and weather. All Leyland models had this problem over the years from the quick thin coats for quicker assembly.
