SII Leather Shift Boot swap
With the exception of my shift boot (black), the interior of my car is biscuit, so today ordered a matching shift boot from OSJI. Did I make a serious error in judgement from a installation standpoint?? FYI,I previously ordered the biscuit wool floor mats from OSJI which you see here and I love!

How I swapped the shift boots
1. Remove dash console piece (radio housing).
2. Loosen two bolts behind the seats, center console
3. Loosen one screw, passenger’s side front, lower center console
4. Lift up center console (unless you remove the handbrake which I did not do, the console will not come out (too much tension between hand brake and shift lever).
5. The oval frame to which the leather boot is glued needs to be gently separated from the a larger oval housing to which it is glued (I accomplished this by contorting myself and working upside town, laying in the passenger’s seat, head on the passenger floor, looking up under the console) - you will see that view in one of the pics below.
6. Once the shift boot frame is loosened (and since I did not remove the hand brake), I had to gently bend the oval frame housing the leather shift boot to remove the frame + boot through the top opening.
7. Next, I gently removed the existing leather shift boot from its frame and positioned and glued the new boot using multiple small clamps to ensure fixation. I let that sit overnight.
8. I inserted the plastic ring which will screw to the metal ring, inside the new boot. I slightly bent the frame + new boot and inserted it from the top over the shift lever, then secured and fitted the frame from underneath (contorted position)....
9. Reinstall bolts, screws, etc. finishing touches (shift knob)
