Starter motor removal?

Yes, you need three hands and rubber arms.
All kidding aside; it is not easy. And if you still have the original starter, it is really heavy. I did it a long time ago, but I remember having to remove the complete air filter assembly, and having to move the fuel line from the filter to the carbs out of the way. You may have to remove the oil filter as well, but I am not sure about that.
As I recall, after removing the complete air filter assembly, I was able to reach the bolts holding the starter. Once the starter was free it became really heavy. I don't remember if I removed through the opening created by removing the air filter assembly, or if I let it go down between the engine and subframe and removed from under the car.
Any way, that was pretty much the scenario. It is not easy or comfortable to get to, but it can be done. Just be patient.
Good luck.
Bill.
