Tires size for Series II just to roll on while I work on - what size
Greetings, I am moving an old series II to restore and it has been sitting for decades. It is on the original 15 wire wheels. I want to pick up some used tires to put on just so I can roll it around for now as the ones on it are square now. I was looking at 205/70/15. Will these work? Anyone have any other suggestions? I am not going to put new tires on while I spend 2 years working everything else so just need some size suggestions that will work for rolling not driving quality. Thank you very much

I believe 205 70 15 is the original size for SIII.
Series I and II originally had 5 x 15 wheels and the 205 is too wide. 185R 15 or 185 80 x 15 is original size. You may have 6" wheels fitted in which case the 205s would be fine but a snug fit. The additional 1" width on 6" wheels are typically set to the outside.
The 205 may fit on there for a short haul and non-road use but won't work properly with the orig wheels. They may also rub on the bump stops and make moving the car in a non-running state a problem,
What size is on it now? If you're not going to drive on the tires and the size on the car currently work, stick with that size if the ones on there are shot.
Also, the 185R x 15 can be pricey and hard to find used, but 185 70 15 are available pretty cheap and maybe find used and they would be ok for moving around in shop or a short drive (too small).
The smaller tires are also lighter and easier to take on and off, handy for a tire that may see repeated removal during your work.
If they are orig wheels they will need a tube, won't hold air with a tubeless tire.
