I recently purchased Series II XKE OTS # 1R8125. This car was restored in the 80's and it appears that the body number plates , both on the firewall and behind the rear number plate, have been removed. Is there any way of finding out what the original body number was ? The heritage trust will not share that information. Thank you, Gary

The most likely location to survive a restoration is the back side of the dash.

As Carlo said, your chassis number (1R8125) should be stamped on the picture-frame. That should be sufficient to acquire a heritage certificate which also lists the engine, body, and gearbox numbers. Your chassis number is not at XKEData but the next lowest is. That car is body number 4R2212 so yours might not be too far off that.

Thanks for your reply. I have found that the Heritage Trust will not supply you with the numbers from the build sheet. You need to give them the numbers from your car before they will list them on your certificate or say that they don't match the original numbers. Luckily , I was able to find all of my numbers . They all match so, all's good.
