Cool stuff Cambo... if you'd care to fly me and my XJR out to
Switzerland, I'd love to make the trip with you

Best of luck with an awesome idea guys. I expect lap times
and a full photo-inclusive write-up when you guys are done!

I would be up for this on any of the dates mentioned, but only if the weather is good (yes, I know no one can guarantee that...). What would the costs be?

I just checked the price again, €97 for four laps, but now there no mention of that including a free pass for the ring°werk, but these are listed at €19,50 for a day pass.

Plus hotel, food, etc.

And you should also check if you need additional insurance on your car to drive on the Nordschleife, some policies will exclude this. But you can buy a policy just for the Tourist drives, some links halfway down the page here Nurburgring Insurance

Cameron, nice work on this my friend and I really hope it gets off the ground.

Re the Jaguar guys - Tell them you're the "Regional Coordinator" for Jaguarforums.com, an International site dedcated to all things Jaguar, you never know , it mght help?
Tell them you'll do an all singing all dancing write up on the site promoting the Brand even further - Hell, tell them anything just make it happen...lol

As far as this thread goes on here......anything either me or the rest of the team can do to help, please just holler.

I'm planning on staying overnight (from the 6. to the 7.April) there.
I want to enjoy the event and don't fancy driving some hundred kilometers back home in the night.

Anybody else as well?
I could offer to do the hotel search (and maybe negotiations, depending on how many people will be staying there).

Yes definitely looking to stay the weekend, probably arrive Friday lunchtime, so need a room for Fri night, Sat night & maybe even Sunday night.

There are a number of hotels in the area.

Hotel am Tiergarten Nürburg am Nürburgring is owned by Sabine Schmitz' family currently single rooms going for €80 per night for that weekend.

Or if you can find something in Cochem might be cheaper?

Percy would be great if you can check it out for us, at the moment we'd be looking at ~10x single rooms.

So the plan is to meet & drive on Saturday (6. April) an make a nice day & evening after the laps on the Nordschleife?

Or are there plans for Sunday too? But I guess Sunday will be travelling day for most of us, won't it?

I'm planning on driving up on the Friday, leave in the morning arrive early afternoon.

I guess the actual laps will be on the Saturday, afternoon?

Still waiting to hear back from Jaguar if they can do something for us, if that comes together then maybe do all that on the Saturday morning.

Friday afternoon could be the ring°werk visit, or maybe the go-karting?

I'll probably drive back Sunday, leaving round lunchtime, so there could be some time Sunday morning for other activities.

P.S. the editor of Jaguar World Monthly Magazine (Paul Walton) replied, they already did an article about taking a jag to the 'Ring last year, BUT he would be interested in running an article in the Events section if we send in photo's and write it up.
